Stobart Group and Malcolm Group join forces for charity

Ast Signs fitters never thought they would be adding Malcolm Group logos onto a Stobart truck, but that is exactly what they did after a charity event that helped raise over three quarters of a million pounds for Cancer research UK.

The Emeralds & Ivy ball which took place last December at Battersea Power Station was a charity evening which the Stobart Group supported as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations. On the evening guests made a financial donation to see their name listed on the side of a refrigerated trailer for a full year. Part of the Ast Signs production team were at the event busy printing off the names as they were purchased and adding them onto the side of the vehicle. The truck was also named Debby on the evening. The total miles that the Volvo FH16 travels will be converted into pounds and presented to the Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer research UK.

Once the names were all added to one side of the trailer there was still the question about the remaining side and the back of the truck. Andrew Malcolm, chief executive of the Malcolm Group, made a further donation to brand this with the distinctive Malcolm Livery Group. Ast Signs wrapped the vehicle with 3M vehicle wrapping film and a protective over laminate. It was wrapped in the North West after the event, once the graphics had been printed at our head office on one of our environmentally friendly printers. The wrapping film can be easily removed in a year’s time and then the Stobart colours will be added back to the trailer. This wrap is a great example of how vehicle wrapping can help to increase awareness of your company through advertising.

Andrew Tinkler, Stobart Group chief executive, said: “This is proof of how the UK logistics industry can work well together and, in this case, help raise an incredible amount of money for charity. We supported the event in December but wanted to offer the charity ongoing public exposure after the event – so what better way than to brand an Eddie Stobart trailer. It’s fantastic that the Malcolm Group has come onboard as well to lend its support to this very worthy cause.”

Andrew Malcolm, the Malcolm Group chief executive, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the UK’s leading logistics providers to join forces to raise money and awareness for such worthy charities.”
