Vehicle Wrapping

Wrapping the Yodel Fleet

Date: 16-09-2010

We're pleased to announce a new contract win that we secured a few months ago, see press release below:

Leading vehicle graphics supplier Ast Signs has secured a major vehicle livery contract with parcel delivery firm Yodel, which will see an innovative vinyl vehicle wrap being applied to the Yodel fleet.

The two-year contract starts with 400 new vans getting wrapped in Yodel’s refreshing new livery and provides the UK’s second largest parcel delivery business with the operational and financial benefits that go hand-in-hand with vehicle wrapping. The vehicles will be wrapped using Avery's Supreme Wrapping Film, a product specifically developed for wrapping vehicles with deep recesses and curves.

North-west based Ast Signs is an award-winning expert in the provision of vehicle wraps – it’s the current Sign Industry Award Business of the Year and has collected awards for wrapping Eddie Stobart’s trucks. It has wrapped everything from trucks and trailers to vans, trains, cars and coaches and has delivered contracts for many of the UK’s largest transport providers including DHL, Tesco, Hoyer and Eddie Stobart.

Vehicle wraps last between five and eight years and offer excellent branding opportunities coupled with financial and fleet operational benefits. Ast Signs has worked with its partners 3M and Avery to develop a robust, high-quality wrap which helps to increase a vehicle’s residual value by protecting the paintwork from everyday scratches, scrapes and stone-chips.

As wraps can be completed in one day and removed in a few hours at the end of the life or lease of the vehicle, they minimise vehicle downtime and time off the road. In the event of accident damage, a panel can be replaced rather than having to re-wrap the entire vehicle.

Ast Signs can deliver vehicle wraps nationally and has the flexibility to work on its premises, at a customer depot or even at a manufacturer or body repair site.

Yodel is the new corporate identity for Home Delivery Network and its subsidiary company Parcelpoint Limited that purchased the domestic B2B and B2C businesses of DHL Express (UK) Limited on 1 March 2010. The parcel delivery giant operates a fleet of 5,000 vans, eight national hubs, and more than 120 service centres.

Mark Aston, Ast Signs Managing Director, said: “This is great news for Ast Signs and we are very happy to be working with Yodel during this exciting time for their brand and customer offering. Fleet operators are starting to recognise the many benefits of wrapping their vehicles – from branding advantages to increasing the vehicle’s residual value. Our experience of wrapping fleets with a diverse variety of vehicles will allow us to provide a high-quality, focused and efficient service to Yodel.”
