60 metre Wall Wraps at London Southend Airport
Cumbria’s Ast Signs has recently helped London Southend Airport open their new terminal in time to capitalise on visitors for the London 2012 Olympics this summer, all the signs, cut vinyl and 60ft vinyl wall wrap were designed and printed at Ast Signs offices in Penrith and Workington.
Ast Signs specialist designers have created a great distinct look for the brand new terminal at London Southend Airport; passengers can view the design on assorted products throughout the airport terminal when it becomes fully operational at the end of February. Inside the terminal one of the items supplied by Ast Signs is an impressive 60 metre by 9 metre full colour printed wall wrap, containing a swirl pattern, with a mixture of colours. The Ast Signs fitters required various access equipment to reach the top of the building and manoeuvre their way around obstacles, including an escalator.
Ast Signs have provided over 2,000 square metres of print, signage and dibond panels cut to shape along with large flat cut lettering that has been added to the new rail station at the airport.
When guests arrive at the front of the new airport terminal they are welcomed by 60 metres of one-way vision window film which has been applied to the striking floor to ceiling glass window at the terminal, it contains tiny holes in so guests who are sitting in the lounge won’t have their view obstructed. All of this work has kept the production team at Ast Signs head office, Cumbria very busy over the last few weeks, a team of fitters worked in Essex putting everything in place.
The new terminal building at London Southend Airport, Essex is only 53 minutes from central London via train and over the next few months you can catch a flight to a range of different European destinations including; Belfast, Jersey, Ireland, Faro, Barcelona and Ibiza, flying with easyjet and Aer-Arran.
Future plans for the airport include a 300m extension to the current new terminal and a new hotel.
Below you can see the process involved to fit all of the signs, flat cuts and wall wraps. If you are interested in anything that you see please give us a call on 01768 892292 and we will be happy to advise you.
