Ast Signs Christmas Party 2011

To end the year Ast Signs staff had their Christmas Party at Fantails restaurant in Wetheral. The evening is a great opportunity for staff to relax after a busy year and catch up with each other over a glass of champagne and a delicious meal. There were over 50 staff at Fantails and everyone was in high spirits and looking forward to the awards that General Manager Gareth Livingstone along with Mark Aston would be presenting. All staff has the opportunity to vote for the awards in the run up to the night.  The categories are as follows, Newcomer of the Year, Special Recognition Award and Employee of the Year. As a result of our expansion throughout the year the Newcomer of the Year award had over 20 people in the category.

The Newcomer of the Year Award was presented to Shane Sowerby who works in production. Shane has a very positive attitude which helped people come to their decision in the voting process. He is willing to learn and always has a smile on his face. Shane is working as a fitter and also learning how production works here at Ast Signs. Well done Shane.

The Special Recognition Award went to Sue Smith who has been an employee for two years. Sue works in the Embroidery department and is always kept busy running different clothing projects. Sue is very hard working and keeps everything in order.

Employee of the Year was awarded to Barry Stockdale from production. Baz has worked here for many years and started out as a trainee fitter, you will now find him in production overseeing many of the jobs. Baz is committed to his work and always puts the effort in. A well deserved winner of the award.

We hope that 2012 is another successful year.
