Sarah's Ironman Triathlon challenge
Date: 12-05-2009Sarah Graham will soon be heading to Lanzarote, but not for a holiday. She will be competing in one of the toughest challenges in sport, the Ironman Triathlon. Sarah, who runs Arragon's Cycle Centre in Penrith will be swimming 2.4 miles, cycling for 112 miles and then running a marathon! Due to the heat and the level of endurance required to tackle the mountainous course the event is considered by many to be the toughest Ironman challenge around. Not only that but Sarah will have to complete the course within 17 hours for it to be acknowledged by the judges.
The 31 year old from Calthwaite near Penrith said: "There will be men and women from all over the world who are all proper athletes, and that worries me a little! I know I will put the training in and I hope I can finish it and do everyone proud.”

Sarah, who helped set up the Arragon's Cumbria Triathlon Club http://www.cumbriatriclub.co.uk/ will be raising money for cerebral palsy.
