Fifa World Cup bid for Manchester
Date: 14-09-2009Manchester's campaign to be a host city for England's 2018 Fifa World Cup bid was held at the impressive Spinningfield's site this earlier this month. Spinningfield's, Manchester's very own Canary Wharf, was the hosting site for the Fifa delegates on Tuesday 1st September. We were asked to produce several banners, flags and vinyl graphics to help with the event.
During the evening a free event was arranged to help promote the bid. Manchester hip-hop band Kid British performed a live set at Hardman Boulevard in the centre of Spinningfields.
Council Leader Sir Richard Leese, said: “Manchester is renowned around the globe for its footballing and musical heritage so it’s great that this event is combining the two.
“The World Cup is arguably the greatest sporting spectacle on the planet and bringing it to Manchester would make for an unforgettable occasion. We believe we have impeccable credentials to be a host city, including a unique bid using the stadia of both Manchester clubs.
